This jacquard wall tapestry is from a late XVIIth century design made for the wedding of Elizabeth Charlotte d'Orléans, nièce of Louis XIVth. It shows a woman and two children around topped off shield surrounded by flower garland on a yellow background. Woven in wool, silk or both, it is lined with a plain beige cotton fabric and has an integral sleeve for hanging.
